ABOUT US

The Kappa Phi-at-Large Chapter is the Central Minnesota honor society of nursing. Advanced practice registered nurse, registered nurse, and student nurse members practice in a variety of settings, including CentraCare, the VA Medical Center, the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University, and Saint Cloud State University.

CHAPTER MEETINGS

Kappa Phi-at-Large meeting date/time/locations are posted one month prior to the meeting. Meetings are primarily conducted virtually and all members are invited to attend.

INDUCTION 2023

Kappa Phi at-Large Chapter welcomed 30 new Sigma members during our annual Induction Ceremony on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

Hanna Belay, chapter president, welcomed inductees, family, friends, faculty and led the in person induction ceremony and oath. It was exciting to return to in person induction after a few years of virtual induction.

Renee Frauendienst gave the keynote address: “The Check Engine Light is in On.”. Renee’s presentation sets the tone for the program and it gave the inductees a clear picture of the current issues affecting our communities and the need to shift in our thinking:

· We must be solution focused.

· Everyone has a role.

· Maximize our resource in the community.

Undergraduate Scholarships:

Ellie Selisker (CSB/SJU) and Isabelle Lefebvre (SCSU) were the recipients of the scholarships. Congratulations Ellie and Isabelle for winning this competitive scholarship!

The Star of Excellence Award:

Natasha Marschall, Float Pool RN, Saint Cloud Hospital, Adjunct Clinical Professor, Saint Cloud State University received this prestigious award for her service to the chapter.

INDUCTION 2022

Kappa Phi at-Large Chapter welcomed 37 new Sigma members during our annual Induction Ceremony on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Hanna Belay, chapter president, welcomed inductees, family, friends, and faculty and led the virtual induction ceremony and oath.

Two undergraduate nursing scholarships were awarded: Krista Korkowski (CSB/SJU) and Rikky Maharjan (SCSU). Congratulations Krista and Rikky on winning this competitive scholarship! Thank you to all who serve in the Awards Committee!

INDUCTION 2021
Kappa Phi at-Large Chapter welcomed 34 new members on during our annual Induction Ceremony on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. The Induction Ceremony was held virtually.
President Melissa Fradette welcomed inductees, family, and friends and lead the induction ceremony and oath.

Two competitive undergraduate nursing scholarships were awarded: Allie Sia Su (CSB/SJU) and Audrey Macone (SCSU). Congratulations Allie and Audrey!
Dr. Georgie Dinndorf Hogenson, CSB/SJU Nursing Faculty, was recognized and awarded the Star of Excellence for her contributions to Sigma membership and students. Congratulations Dr. Dinndorf Hogenson!
